YOU CAN CALL US THE LAVENDER MENACES

WHO'VE WE GOT HERE THEN?
Director of Photography
Jacinta Oaten
Photographer/Videographer

Quick history lesson: lesbian feminists in the 70s were super badass. They reclaimed the once derogatory name, a “Lavender Menace”, for their own – lavenders then became a symbol for the LGBTQIA+ movement and liberation post-Stonewall.
So it's truly fitting for our all-queer team!

ABOUT US:
THE DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
HOW THE
LAVENDER
HAZE
CAME TO BE
I'm Jacinta Oaten, a photographer and filmmaker.
I’ve been capturing lovers ever since I realised just how rewarding
being responsible for other's cherished memories is.
To get down to it, my first ever wedding was back in 2010!
There’s nothing like seeing the joy that radiates from people
and how stoked they are when they receive their images.
I wanted to create an incredible wedding photography and film business that's totally inclusive and a visibly safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community. It's a reality that some couples still have to ask suppliers if they do
non-traditional weddings which can be a daunting experience.
I was saddened by hearing couples' negative experiences which
is why I'm out here leading an all-queer team to provide
incredible photo and video coverage for all couples!
